OSWEGO — Exelon Generation’s Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station donated nearly $100,000 to more than two dozen local organizations this year with proceeds from this year’s charity golf tournament.
Additional funds will be provided to support community causes during the upcoming holiday season.
“Exelon Generation and the employees of Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station are proud to support the important work done by each of these organizations as they help those in need across Oswego and Onondaga Counties,” said Pete Orphanos, site vice president. “The people in our local communities have been tremendously supportive of our company and of nuclear technology. We are committed to continuing to power our communities by providing clean, reliable energy and giving back through volunteerism and financial support.”

This year’s tournament was the station’s most successful yet, thanks in part to key sponsors: Allied Power, Babcock Services Inc., Enercon, GE Hitachi, Hanes Supply Inc., Jingoli, PM&W, Preferred Engineering, Reactor Services Inc., Rombough Electric, Sargent & Lundy LLC, Suez, Underwater Construction Corporation, and W.D. “The tournament would not be possible without support from our contractors and vendors,” said Orphanos. “We thank them for their partnership which allows us to positively impact so many people and causes in our county.”
