Reversal of Temporary Modifications on the East and West Reactor Faces
ABOUT
Our personnel planned and managed projects for Bruce Power in the reactor vaults of Units 1 & 2 during the Bruce A Restart. These projects were on the Critical Path immediately after reactor refueling, and were conducted around the clock in a Zone 3 Radiological Area using 3 hour work crew jumps to minimize time of exposure.
The projects consisted of reversal of temporary modifications on the east and west reactor faces made during the retube of the Unit 1 and Unit 2 Calandrias, modification of the fueling machine bridge Y-drive, disconnection and removal of the temporary power supplies, disconnection and removal of the fueling machine bridge Y-Drive modifications, installation of the X and Y-Drive power supplies, limit switches & panels, modifications to the service and breathing air systems, removal of the vault bulkhead, removal of the working platform at the reactor face, performing an extensive rebuild and reinstallation of the reactor area bridge and carriage, execution of the vault pressure test, and decontamination & storage of all removed components.
